The Vision Behind DZ Shades
I'm Tariq Harris — born and raised in Chicago, and a graduate of Eastern Michigan University, where I studied Entrepreneurship.
I started DZ Shades because eyewear shouldn't feel generic. Most brands rebrand the same factory frames; I wanted to design every pair from scratch, with real intention behind every detail.
DZ stands for Drop Zone
A reminder that premium design should land directly in the hands of the people who appreciate it, without the markup of traditional luxury brands. The goal has always been simple: accessible, wearable art for your face.
That vision lives in our ACE Collection
Sapphire, Emerald, and Amber. Each frame is named after a gemstone because every pair is designed to feel rare: shaped with care, rich in color, and built to last. Crafted from premium Italian Mazzucchelli acetate and stainless steel, hand-finished in small batches.
